Printing Systems has announced the retirement of Tony Naschberger from his
position as Senior Advisor at J. Zimmer Maschinenbau GmbH, Kufstein, effective
June 30, 2025. Tony’s exit marks the close of an extraordinary chapter, defined
by nearly 50 years of leadership and technological contributions to the textile
machinery industry.
Since joining ZIMMER
AUSTRIA in 1975, Tony has been instrumental in steering the company’s
innovation journey. His pioneering role in the development of digital carpet
printing redefined industry benchmarks. At a time when analogue methods
dominated the floor coverings sector, his vision and technical leadership
facilitated a paradigm shift toward high-resolution, digitally printed carpets.
This advancement transformed production speed, colour accuracy, and design
complexity in flooring textiles.

Tony’s achievements also
extended into technical textiles, particularly for military applications. He
spearheaded the integration of digital printing into defence-grade fabrics,
ensuring compliance with stringent specifications. This breakthrough enabled
high-precision, low-signature camouflage and performance-enhancing prints,
delivering consistency and scalability never before possible in military-grade
fabrics.
Serving as Managing
Director from 2010 to 2021, Tony blended strategic acumen with a people-first
leadership style. His tenure helped position ZIMMER AUSTRIA as a global
innovator in high-end digital printing machinery for carpets, home textiles,
and technical applications.
Tony will continue to serve
as Managing Director of Johannes Zimmer Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungs GmbH. His
legacy will remain embedded in ZIMMER AUSTRIA’s DNA, inspiring future
advancements in textile machinery and digital technology. The company has expressed
deep gratitude for his service and commitment, celebrating a career that has
left an indelible mark on the industry.
